How
we run an investigation…
Our
typical investigation soon starts after the potential client
contacts us. A
phone interview is done to evaluate the situation. Information is
collected on location, contacts, history, events and
more. At this
point a preinvestigation is set up. On a preinvestigation
we send 2-3 investigators to interview the clients, look
things over, take base readings, and photographs. We then evaluate the
data from the preinvestigation and determine if a full
investigation is warranted. When we decide an
investigation is needed we will get together with the client
and set a date.
This is when the research is started on the history of
the property and local area. We arrive on the day
that was scheduled with all of the equipment we have decided
is necessary to conduct a complete investigation. It takes about 30
minutes to set everything up, but this may vary with the
different layouts and types of equipment used.
On
an investigation we take numerous photographs, video, measure
DC fields, radiation, temperature, humidity and more. Typically an
investigation runs about 4 hours. During that time we
will collect over 16 hours worth of video, many photographs,
various EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) sessions, and data
logs from the equipment.
All of this is reviewed very thoroughly, sometimes this
means having to review it twice by more than one
investigator.
Reviewing the data is very time consuming and may take
2-3 weeks since the investigators only have a portion of their
day to devote to this outside of their full-time
responsibilities.
With the information all at hand, and the research
completed a report is put together and given to the clients
and posted on the website.
