We use a wide variety of equipment on our investigations, from our minds to sensitive meters and data logging equipment. We also have good variety of photographic equipment including film, digital, and video. We make use of security equipment, and are always trying to come up with new avenues to expand our investigation techniques. We are more then willing to share information on what we do so contact us with any questions. What is it:  Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)

Theory:  living people have a measurable energy field; the theory is that in spirit this field may persist. What complicates this is the fact that many things natural and manmade emit this. In our investigations we strive to eliminate every possibility of a natural occurrence. The other side of the story is that it has been shown that man made EMF can cause a haunting like experience.

Equipment: CPI uses a wide Varity of EMF meters from a simple DR. Gauss to a trifield Natural EM modified for data logging.

What is it: Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP)

Theory:  Spirits can make use of recording devices to communicate with us. We are still researching this theory with varying results.

Equipment: A mix of digital recorders and analog tape recorders are used along with amplified mic’s. we also us software like audacity to clean the recordings without changing the original content.

What is it: Visual information

Theory: video and or still cameras may capture things we can or maybe cannot see with our eyes.

Equipment: typically in an investigation we use a 0lux night vision 4+ high res camera set with a DVR recorder. We can also supplement this with a second identical setup or a third that uses smaller ir night vision cameras with a quad processor and DVD recorder. Additional we use an assortment of hand held video cameras and digital still cameras. All of these are for capturing visual images and backing up events that occur by either capturing an image or providing information such as proving where people were or were not at the time.

What is it: Environmental data

Theory: If we are sharing our environment with unseen entities they must still have an effect on the environment.

Equipment: Noncontact IR thermometers are used to find the base temperatures, along with natural explanations for temperature differences like drafty window.  They are useless for locating columns of varying temperature, like a cold spot. For that we use meters and probes. We also log the ambient temperature using a HoBo data logger.  Another aspect we watch is the normal background radiation. We use a logging Geiger counter by black cat systems for that. We have some minor evidence of a drop in radiation when an event occurs.  As mentioned above we monitor EMF to.

Conclusion:  In our opinion no one knows exactly what it is we are looking for, so there is no “ghost meter”. Instead we are using this equipment to supplement the human experience and try to learn more about these. We try to come up with new ideas for this and will give most things a try. There are many other things we could list here but so far we are keeping it to the most common. If we ever find the one thing that gets better results, you will find it here.
